Queensland rules for prescription cosmetic treatments changed on 1 July 2025. Here's how they affect new patients at The Pretty Face.
What's changed
Consultation and treatment on separate days
In line with Queensland Health's interpretation of the Medicines and Poisons Act 2019, the way Schedule 4 (prescription) cosmetic treatments are delivered in Queensland has changed. As a Queensland clinic, we follow these rules in full.
- Same-day consultation and treatment is no longer permitted for new patients having prescription cosmetic treatments.
- Your consultation and your treatment must take place on separate days.
- These changes protect your safety and make sure every treatment is medically approved.

- Full face assessment with Elizabeth

- Long-term ageing and skin maintenance advice
Telehealth prescription review
- Our medical prescriber reviews your plan by telehealth
- If suitable, your prescription is valid for 12 months
Treatment appointment
- Your medicine is dispensed by a pharmacy and delivered to the clinic
- You return for treatment with Elizabeth
- A 50% deposit secures your treatment booking
Booking skin needling or a PRP facial? These changes apply only to prescription (Schedule 4) treatments. Other services aren't affected and can be booked directly online.
